Marshalltown Community Theatre

Bio: Valerie has been a choreographer on numerous MCT productions, but THE WOMEN (2003) marks her first time as an MCT cast member. She played the part of a nurse, which proved comfortable since she "plays" the role of a nurse daily, working at the Wolfe Eye Clinic.

Bio: Andrea is a newcomer to Marshalltown, growing up in Carroll, Iowa. She was active in the Carroll Community Theatre, performing in SOUTH PACIFIC and MISSED AMERICA. She is a recent graduate of the University of Iowa with a major in psychology and a minor in Theatre. They do seem to fit well together don’t they? While at Iowa, she was a member of Old Gold Singers. Andrea has a daughter, born in September of 2002

Bio: Justin is a Marshalltown resident who, while attending Marshalltown Community College, auditioned for the 2008 season opener THE GLASS MENAGERIE at the suggestion of David Engel. He was cast as Jim O'Connor and this role served as Justin's first MCT experience. Justin has quite an extended family outside of the area (some relatives live as far away as Seattle, Washington). He enjoyed making his debut on our stage and plans to continue his involvement in the future.

Bio: Hi! My name is Nick and I am a very energetic person. I crave music! I am currently in Choir, Show Choir, Band and Jazz Band. I also love dancing and having fun. I have acted in many things before appearing at MCT. I have done Christmas programs for many years and all of my school plays. My first appearance on the MCT stage was in "On Golden Pond" where I helped mend the relationship between my mother and grandfather. Now GALA. I plan to do many more. And that is Nick Cooper in a nutshell.

Bio: Cast as Peter in our 2007 production of COMPANY made this Dan's first MCT musical as an actor, although he co-directed THE MOCK DOCTOR during the Fall of 2006 with Pete Grady. He was very active in high school theatre, portraying Tevye in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, Emile in SOUTH PACIFIC, Sheridan Whiteside in THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER, and the title role in CYRANO.

Bio: Dee has been active in Marshalltown Community Theatre since 1991. Her background in banking made her a prime candidate for the Board position of Treasurer. Dee has performed on our stage in numerous plays and has worked behind the scenes for many others.

Bio: Chelsea has performed in numerous high school plays but the dual roles of April Silva and Tiffany Edwards marked her debut on the MCT stage in 2009's summer show, THE LARAMIE PROJECT. She is an art major at the University of Iowa, and was drawn to the play's central aspect. Chelsea commented, "I felt this production had an important message and I wanted to be a part of it."

Bio: Being a part of the orchestra and playing the piano for the musical, WORKING was Sara's first MCT endeavor during the summer of 2006. She moved to Marshalltown in 2005, and is a teacher at Hoglan Elementary School. Reading, playing the piano, working out, and spending time with family and friends are some of her favorite activities.
