Our People
Hayley Rauzi
Edit Entry
Rauzi
Location: Marshalltown, Iowa
Bio: Hayley arrived at the Marshalltown Community Theatre in 2012 and said "I want to help". We haven't got her to perform in a production yet, but she runs sound and lights and will also hang and focus lights despite her abiding fear of heights.
Janine RAWLINGS
RAWLINGS
Location: Marshalltown, IA
Bio: In 1993, a very persuasive Mary Ann Tordsen convinced Janine to audition for the part of a psychic maid in BLYTHE SPIRIT, even though she was quite familiar with the theatre from working behind the scenes on several prop crews prior to her 'one and only' performance. The theatre beckoned her during the Spring of 2007, calling her name to stage manage BAREFOOT IN THE PARK. Janine kept the momentum going, being the assistant director / stage manager for MCT's Summer Musical COMPANY that same year. As a speech and language pathologist for the AEA 267, fostering clear communication from the hundreds of students she has worked with has been her passion. She adds, "My son Adam is my pride and joy."
Bill Roberts
Roberts
Location: Marshalltown, IA
Bio: Bill has donned many roles that will go down in MCT theatre history. He has been in too many productions here at MCT to list. Bill wonders, “Why do I always play an older person? It’s hard on the makeup people.” He also states that he loves musicals, but doesn’t sing.
Nicole ROBERTSON
ROBERTSON
Location: Marshalltown, IA
Bio: Nicole is a newcomer to the MCT stage, performing as Lulu, one of the Kit Kat girls in our 2003 summer musical, CABARET. Her high school credits include LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. She is currently studying vocal performance and journalism at Waldorf College. Of her experience with CABARET, Nicole says, "I'm so excited to be involved in CABARET. It has been a wonderful experience and the cast/crew/director are the greatest."
Shelly Robinson
Robinson
Location: Marshalltown, Iowa
Bio: Although she had performed in middle school plays, Shellie really felt the bite of the theatre bug when she participated in OLIVER! during the summer of 2008. Her experience as a claustrophobic chorus member must have been enjoyable because she came back to portray Sammy in FIRST BAPTIST OF IVY GAP the following year. Shellie volunteers at the library and she is a Girl Scout, and says those who are a part of live theatre are very lucky. "I've gained another family here!"
Shyeaka S. ROBINSON
ROBINSON
Location: Marshalltown, IA
Bio: Crazy and fun are the best words to describe Shy. She's a high spirited person who loves meeting people. Singing and performing in front of an audience are her passions in life. Our 2006 production of WORKING was Shyeaka's first actual community theatre production, playing the part of Maggie, although she has had past performances in FOR COLORED GIRLS, DECK CHAIRS, and the female version of THE ODD COUPLE.
Karen ROESSLER
ROESSLER
Location: Marshalltown, IA
Bio: Karen's joys include her family, gardening, teaching, and theatre. Although family time often revolves around her son Aaron and his swimming activities, she makes time for theatre projects with her husband Frank. Karen teaches at Lenihan Intermediate School in the Extended Learning Program. Highlights of her time here include directing a talented cast for CAMELOT, portraying the nutty "Sister Robert Anne" in five of the NUNSENSE productions, and being cast in three of her favorite female roles: "Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine" in THE LION IN WINTER, "Kate" in TAMING OF THE SHREW, and "Bella" in LOST IN YOUNKERS.
Frank ROESSLER
ROESSLER
Location: Marshalltown, IA
Bio: Frank says he's part of the theatre for one reason: "The toys." A veteran tech crew member at MCT, his credits include ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST, PLAY ON!, CABARET and A FEW GOOD MEN. He has also handled sound, lighting and other technical duties for such varied productions as SING ON in Conrad and BURIED CHILD, BATHROOM HUMOR, YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN and LOVE LETTERS at Marshalltown Community College. Frank is married to Karen and has a stepson, Aaron, and a dog named Louis. He is also a physics teacher at MCC and regularly enjoys the outdoors with his family and the Boy Scouts.
