Set in 1938 small-town Connecticut, The Hundred Dresses by Mary Hall Surface, portrays the treatment of a newly arrived immigrant family from Poland. The effects on both Wanda Petronski, the target of merciless bullying, and Maddie Reeves, who chooses to stand by and do nothing, are explored.

The Petronski family: one girl, older boy, and one man will require Polish accents. Wanda Petronski plays a recorder (wind instrument) on stage. Another girl, Cecile, performs a short ballet piece.
