Calling all lost children,
Indians, pirates, and flying children to perform
in Marshalltown Community Theatre’s
summer musical “Peter Pan”!
Get ready to audition for Peter Pan, a story so magical… it actually takes flight!
Marshalltown Community Theatre (MCT) announces an open call for auditions to be held May 11th & 12th at the Martha-Ellen Tye Playhouse, 709 S. Center Street, Marshalltown. The cast includes 30-38 people of all ages and will be performed July 24th thru August 2nd.
With many speaking and singing roles available, plus many more for dancers, a large chorus, and extra parts for children, the auditions are open to children (age 8 and above), teens, and adults. Please plan to attend one for the two audition dates listed below:
Monday, May 11th: Children (8-15) 5:30 PM; Teens and Adults (16 and up) 7:00 PM.
Tuesday, May 12th: Children (8-15) 5:30 PM; Teens and Adults (16 and up) 7:00 PM.

If planning to audition for a leading role (Peter Pan, Wendy, John, Michael, Mr. or Mrs. Darling, Smee or Hook), please come prepared with sheet music to sing 16 measures of a song from a Broadway musical. An accompanist will be provided. Everyone auditioning should wear appropriate footwear and clothing to learn and perform dance steps. Call backs will be held on Wednesday, May 13th.
Enthusiastic, community-minded adult volunteers are also needed to help behind the scenes as stage managers; stage crew; costume designers; seamstresses; sound, lighting, hair, and make-up specialists; set artists; and fly crew. An informational meeting for volunteers will be held May 14th at 7:00 PM. All interested individuals are invited to attend.
Rehearsals will generally be scheduled for Monday through Thursday evenings with Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon rehearsals just prior to the performances. There will be six performances on the weekends of July 24,25, & 26 and July 31, Aug. 1, and 2. All performances are mandatory. If auditioning for Peter Pan, Wendy, John, Michael, Hook, mandatory rehearsals will be July 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, and 23 for “flying” lessons.
